I studied at Wimbledon School of Art, where I graduated in 2001 with a First class degree in painting. Since then I have been developing my interest in painting landscapes and people inspired by the South West of England where I live. I have also been working as a Firefighter.
Whilst technical accomplishment is important, I want my pictures to work on various levels, being both entertaining and lighthearted but also with a degree of poignancy that the viewer can uncover through more sustained explorations.
Over the last couple of years, I have been exploring texture and layers - and there is also evidence of my interest in text and narratives. It is quite possible that I will be publishing some of my free verse in time. I am finding using written narratives a very interesting way of approaching the painting process.
